Mandagadde during Monsoon

Monsoons spur a whole lot of life all around. Most of the birds begin to nest and breed in this season. With river Tunga flowing up to its brims, recent visit to Mandagadde during monsoons provided an opportunity to watch a whole flock of Median Egrets in action. A few had already had their family, few were trying their luck, few were busy in attracting opposite sex, few had started to build their nests.. and it goes on.... It was such a joy to watch them and time just flew by....

Madagadde is tiny village around 30+Kms from Shimaga town towards Thirthahalli. Enroute Mandagadde you can visit Gajanur and Sakrebylu Elephant camp. Nesting season is from June to October for Egrets and Darters.
