I could not see a white below the neck in any of the pics that differentiates oriental magpie robins from indian robins
2. The vent of the male in one of the pics clearly shows the chest-nut color
3. The male and female of Oriental magpie robins looks almost smiliar whereas in Indian robins the female is dull brown and male is black predominantly like it was in the pics on the blogChanduhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15495003763586306474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3607433931340453103.post-40303641250690894362010-08-25T11:09:28.206+02:002010-08-25T11:09:28.206+02:00dear chandru i am pleased to read your comment on...dear chandru i am pleased to read your comment on indian robin . please note indian robin [16 c.m.]male:dark - brown above, white wing patch glossy blue black below chestnut vent, under tail . female:lacks white in wings, duller grey-brown below. please observe the picture in the blog now and verify your comment. thanks.balasubramanyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12388162338555759176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3607433931340453103.post-46151254684012360212010-08-24T07:07:28.242+02:002010-08-24T07:07:28.242+02:00I am afraid they are just Indian robins. Oriental ...I am afraid they are just Indian robins. Oriental Magpie robins are much bigger in size and just black and white. Indian robin has the distinctive orange vent that differentiates them from pied bush chat and the tail up-stanceChanduhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15495003763586306474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3607433931340453103.post-58997138454349254752010-08-18T18:46:13.775+02:002010-08-18T18:46:13.775+02:00hello pleased to read about INDIAN ROBINS.THERE AR...hello pleased to read about INDIAN ROBINS.THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF ROBINS .ORIENTAL MAGPIE ROBIN AND INDIAN BLUE ROBIN.IN YOUR BLOG POST IT IS ORIENTAL MAGPIE ROBIN [COPSYCBUS SAULARIS..20 CM] MALE:GLOSSY BLUE-BLACK AND WHITE;WHITE WING- PATCH AND WHITE IN OUTER TAIL DISTINCTIVE,GLOSSY BLUE -BLACK THROAT ,BREST, WHITE BELOW.
